COCETA organized a day on gender-equal leadership in the Social Economy on July 10
The Spanish Confederation of Worker Cooperatives (COCETA) organized the event “Dialogues on Gender-Equal Leadership: Advancing in the Social Economy” at the Institute for Women in Madrid, as part of the European project CAPSE – Collective Action for Parity in the Social Economy, co-funded by the European Union’s Erasmus+ programme.
The event brought together institutional representatives, policymakers, experts, and key stakeholders to reflect on the transformative role of gender parity in the governance of Social Economy organizations.
María Guijarro, Secretary of State for Equality, emphasized “the need for spaces of reflection to achieve full gender parity,” while Amparo Merino, Secretary of State for the Social Economy, highlighted “the importance of shared responsibility for equitable leadership.”
The gathering also featured a keynote speech by Carmen Marcuello (University of Zaragoza), two roundtables on the topics of leadership and gender parity ⚖️ and political voices for more equitable governance, followed by a presentation of the CAPSE project by Evelyn Moctezuma (COCETA).
